Leora Garner is the Founder and President of Laurel
Grove Capital and has been the Chief Investment
Officer and Portfolio Manager since its inception
in 1996. After graduating from the University of California at Los Angeles with a B.A. in English,
Leora worked as a social worker for the County of
Los Angeles Bureau of Public Assistance.
She later went back to school taking graduate
accounting and finance classes, which led to her
becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Her
experience in accounting includes two years as
a motion picture auditor, and then founding and
managing her own accounting and business
management firm, Garner Financial Services.
Leora began her investment counseling career in 1988
when she joined Trust Company of the West as a Vice
President in the Private Client Services Group. In 1994
she left to take the position of Portfolio Manager with
Philip J. Swan and Associates.
In addition to her duties at Laurel Grove Capital,
she serves as a Trustee Affiliate of Berkeley Hall
School and is a member of the Library Council and
the CFA Institute.
